  • Dr Mahli-Ann Butt

    she/her | Chief Investigator (Project Lead)

    Mahli-Ann is a Lecturer in Cultural Studies at the University of Melbourne. She is the International Chapter Officer of the Digital Games Research Association (DiGRA) and President of DiGRA Australia (DiGRAA). She is the exhibition producer for Pride at Play and lead editor of the forthcoming anthology, The Post-Gamer Turn. She is broadly interested in questions of diversity in the digital cultures and creative industries of videogames. She has two Balinese cats named Belmont and LeChonks.

  • Dr Lucy Sparrow

    she/they | Chief Investigator (HCI Lead)

    Lucy is an Associate Lecturer in the Human-Computer Interaction Group at the University of Melbourne. Her award-winning research focuses on digital ethics, with a particular interest in multiplayer games and game design.

  • Dr Eduardo Oliveira

    he/him | Chief Investigator (AI Engineer Lead)

    Eduardo is a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering in the School of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Melbourne. His expertise is in the use of artificial intelligence to model and assist tertiary students on digital learning environments. Eduardo uses machine learning and natural language processing combined with models of self-regulated learning to guide his research.

    Dahlia Jovic is an Honours grad from USyd and a research assistant at UMelb. She has a keen interest in digital cultures, game studies, technology, artificial intelligence, and journalism. She serves three cats (voids) named Catsby, Sailor and Nimrod.

  • Ren Galwey

    they/them | Research Assistant (HCI)

    Ren Galwey is a law grad, research assistant at UniMelb and works with the @cybersafetyproject. Their interests are in video games, IP, AI and privacy, and they’ve recently begun a PhD candidature with the ARC Digital Child. They have two cats, Frankie (smol) and Solomon (big).
